Domestic abuse perpetrator programmes
This article contributes to a long-standing debate about where resources should be targeted for crimes; perpetrators or victims?
Domestic abuse perpetrator programmes
Victims require support, but having worked within prisons and the criminal justice system for many years, our team also know that to prevent further re-offending, support needs to be put in place for perpetrators. Psychology has studied the underlying features of domestic abuse and can be a really powerful tool in educating perpetrators and supporting them to build the skills needed to have future healthy relationships.
Our staff have worked with perpetrators of domestic abuse in both prison and community settings for over 15 years, both to assess risk and provide appropriate intervention.
We know that not every service can afford specialist input, so we have also developed a manualised intervention for staff who work with perpetrators and can provide support and supervision.
Please contact us for further information on this manualised intervention.
