Working with complex service users

We have been working with Dyfodol drug and alcohol treatment service in South Wales to help manage some of their most complex service users.  We are currently delivering monthly clinics with case workers and managers in which we provide advice and consultation based on established psychological theory and strategies.  So far we have drawn upon trauma-informed approaches, positive psychology, attachment and schema theory to discuss presenting issues such as distress, personality disorder and mental illness.  Feedback from staff participating in the clinics states they value the chance to reflect upon the lives and presentation of the people they are working with.  The clinics are also providing the opportunity to consider how to apply practical strategies to develop service user's strengths and well-being.

Helping services develop a more psychologically informed approach is a specialism and key focus of our business, please get in touch if you would like to consider similar services within your organisation.
